Paul Hamilton,
CFI, DPE (PE, SPIE)

Paul has been flying unpowered Hang Gliders for over 30 years, and powered Hang gliders for 20 years now. Paul holds the Federal Aviation Adniminstrations (FAA) highest ratings possible for Weight-Shift Control aircraft with a Private Pilot rating, a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating, and is a FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) to test pilots for FAA sport pilot and flight instructor licenses. Paul has accumulated more than 2,000 flying hours to date and is also is a FAA certified flight instructor for light-sport airplanes. Paul wrote the FAA “Weight-Shift Control Flying Handbook” 8083-5 which is used as the basis for all trike training throughout the world.

Paul is a Master Rated Hang Glider Pilot and Advanced Rated Paraglider Pilot with the USHPA, United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association.

Paul began as a flight instructor 30 years ago teaching Hang Gliding with a local ski shop, as well as, developed and taught Hang Gliding with the University of Nevada Reno as a credit course in the athletic department.

In 1978 Paul was issued a US Patent # 416406 for a variable camber inflatable hang gliding wing he developed, built and flew in college. He graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Aeronautics. Paul went on to work as an Engineer in Design, Analysis, and Flight Testing for the Lear Fan 2100 business turbo prop/jet.

After his work at Lear Fan, Paul founded Adventure Productions in 1988, a full service multi-media production company specializing in adventure sport aviation productions. Adventure Productions produces features, DVD / video series, books, and CDs. With a specialty for capturing Point Of View (POV) adventure sport aviation footage, Paul is Producer of over forty films on ultralights and light sport aircraft including fixed wing airplanes, trikes, powered paragliders, powered parachutes, paragliders, and hang gliders featured at Adventure Productions online store. When the Sport Pilot/Light-Sport Aircraft new FAA rule became effective in 2004, Paul combined forces with the largest aviation publisher in the world ASA to publish his works.

Today, specializing in weight-shift control aircraft, Paul teaches in weight-shift control aircraft (powered hang gliders) and airplanes while he continues to develop and publish books and DVD’s for the adventure of flight and learning how to fly.

Hang Gliding Tahoe allows Paul one of his greatest passions in life, to introduce and train people to flying one of the easiest to fly and most fun aircraft available.

Bob Harington, CFI
Bob has extensive aviation experience as a military chopper/commercial airplane pilot. He is now retired as an Army Colonel where he commanded aviation operations in Nevada.

Bob started flying trikes long ago in the ultralight days and now has the highest ratings possible for trike —Private/CFI plus a FAA Maintenance Repairman rating for light-sport aircraft.

Bob will fly with the “Fly Together” flights in his blue Apollo trike plus do single flights when Paul is already booked and you want to fly.

Bob loves to teach people how to fly and is a great addition to provide the new “Fly Together” Hang Gliding Tahoe flights.
